Renewable Energy

About 600 million people in sub-Saharan Africa live without access to electricity. The majority of those (approximately 80%) live in rural areas where there is no grid-electricity and expansion are financiallyand logistically infeasible. Millions of people in Africa rely on kerosene lamps and candles to light their homes and burn wood on open fires to cook and heat water. This is dangerous, harmful polluting and expensive. Batteries are widely used to power radios and people often must travel for miles to charge their mobile phones. At the same time Africa has an average of 360 days out of 365 a year of sun. GIVE ONE HOPE dedicates one of its project of habitat care programs to tackle this issue in Africa by providing access to affordable, reliable and sustainable green energy to the communities in need.
